Hailing from Brampton, Ontario, rising star Jonathan Emond moved to a
small town near Montreal at a very young age. Throughout elementary Jonathan was always a
natural entertainer. When he was eight he began piano lessons, and it was soon apparent
that he was a gifted pianist, passing the 'Conservatoire de Musique du Quebec a Montreal'
entry exam at age 10.
Challenges began to take a hold when at age 11 both of Jonathan's
kidney's failed. Piano playing and acting was put on hold during the
dialysis treatments. On Jonathan's 13th birthday his father Stephen, donated a kidney.
His experience during this process gave Jonathan the strength and motivation
to help other children in need of medical care. As a young teen Jonathan would be on
stage speaking to corporate businesses encouraging them to pledge funds for Operation
Enfant Soleil, the local charity. Jonathan shared his survival story to these corporations,
raised awareness and gave hope to other children experiencing health issues.
It was during this time that Jonathan met his first acting mentor, Susan Glenn, a successful
talent agent that worked with Jay Baruchel in Montreal. Susan was inspired by Jonathan's raw
talent and ability to command a stage. She encouraged him to join Teen Tour Theatre,
a youth theatre troupe, and pursue a career in acting. Jonathan's first audition at fifteen,
landed him a leading role on Télé-Québec's Tactik, set in Montreal. He has since
gone on to appear in the Michael Bay directed blockbuster movie Transformers: Age of Extinction
and several popular Canadian TV shows including; Impostor, Fatal Vows, Being Human, 30 Vies
and The Fixer.
Since beginning his acting journey Jonathan has evolved as a young actor. He has studied stage combat,
voice over for animation and video games, improvisation workshops and more
recently Meisner workshops with JT Silver. On arriving to Los Angeles, Jonathan began
sharpening his acting chops by studying with renowned Los Angeles-based acting
teacher Aaron Speiser (coach for Will Smith, Gerard Butler, and Virginia Madsen), where he
continues to grow and excel as a student.
When not acting, or in an acting class, Jonathan spends his time in the gym, playing tennis or
spending time with friends. He remains an active ambassador for various
children's charities and organizations in Canada and across the USA.
